Engineers Frank Cotter and G. Howlett Davis take advantage of the natural powers of air insulation and create a double-walled, permanently sealed glass as a way to keep hot and cold beverages cool for longer. This innovation would change the container industry forever. Combining the last three letters of each of their last names, Cotter and Davis baptized the company "Tervis".
Florida. A few years later.
The tall cylindrical cylinders soon captured the interest of an adventurous, sun-loving, enterprising family that bought the rights to Tervis products in the 1960s, and moved the company to its home state to embrace the spirit of solar life and all outdoor activities. The south has to offer. In the following years, Tervis improved and expanded the original design and introduced decorations, emblems and colors to create containers as unique as their consumers.
Today
Currently, Tervis offers glasses of different sizes, bottles of water, glasses to sip and wine glasses, thousands of designs and original and licensed emblems and a complete complement of accessories. The third generation of family owned and operated businesses now employs more than 900 people and is celebrating 70 years of success.
